The Title Of The 2009 Poker Player Of The Year Was Given To
Thursday, May 27th, 2010Poker player of the year is given to someone who has had a tremendous year in online and offline poker tournaments. Winning one rakeback tournament is a tremendous achievement but winning 6 in a year is just great. Last year Harrison Gimbel of USA won 6 poker tournaments offline and online and deservedly took away the title of player of the year. His wining for the year was approximately $3,000,000. That is huge for a 19 year old.
Gilber321 is his nickname in poker tournaments online. From early teenage years he was involved in playing poker with his brother who was 15 at the time. They started playing within friends from $10 to $20 buy in. Harrison’s biggest cash was in the PokerStars weekly tournament where he won $57,377.50 for second place with just $1000 buy in. He said that he has never been an online player and has always been in love with the biggest tournaments. He is still only 19 and still less experienced than other players who play in love poker tournaments. He says his favourite game is NLHE MTTS and his favourite poker players are Dario Minieri and Phil Ivey. He goes down to his local chinese restaurant every week as he loves chinese food.
As I mentioned above he won 6 tournaments in 2009, here are the names. The Nightly Hundred Grand, $22,000 guarantee (1r+1a), $33,000 guarantee (1r+1a), $40,000 guarantee, $33,000 guarantee (r+1a) and $55+R NL Hold’em [$40,000 guaranteed]. He also won the 2009 Florida State Poker Championships in June 2009. Recently in 2010 he went home with 2010 Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure Main event title. It definitely seems like this guy is definitely climbing the steps quickly and other players should watch out for him.
He also finished second and third 5 times in ten other tournaments in 2009. He said he will be participating in many tournaments which includes rakeback deals and full tilt poker in next few months.
