Enjoy A Smoke Whilst Playing Online Poker

Friday, December 11th, 2009

America has been known for sometime now for its dislike of smoking and smokers.

Today there has been an announcement that a second Vegas strip casino is being sued for second hand smoke. As a result, casinos now conform to US law and do not allow smoking as of the 1st of October.

However, many gamblers find the idea of placing their bets and not being able to smoke is horrific! It’s not really surprising when you think about how much money people spend and how stretched their nerves can get.

It is obvious that a smoker would always want to fall back on their trusty nicotine fix while the cards are dealt or the wheels are spinning! With this new ban, it has certainly put a stop to this, however the smokers are fighting back and from certain casinos are getting a lot of support.

The Crow Indian Reservation has found a way round this problem. Due to the fact that Indian reservations are considered sovereign governments and therefore separate from US state laws, they do not need to follow the new smoking ban.

This could be good news for all reservations casinos in the USA. With the current economic climate as it is, casinos on the main strips appear to be struggling and this may have a knock on effect as the gambler and habitual smoker cannot seem to do one without the other.

A casino guest has said “You’d go mad playing these machines if you couldn’t have a cigarette, if I’m playing, I’m smoking. It’s easier on the nerves.”
It is highly unlikely that the tribal governments on these reservations will opt to follow the US legislation on this one; there is just too much opportunity to increase their casino popularity by allowing smoking!

There are always ways around bans though. Why not play from the comfort of your own home. You don’t have to worry about any rules and regulations ruining your game.

There are plenty of rakeback deals currently available, including Party Poker Rakeback and PKR Poker Rakeback. The list is endless, and if you fancy having a smoke and a beer, then go right on ahead!

Online Poker Players Expected To Increase In Asia Due To New Film Release

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

It would seem that Asia is about to go poker crazy as a new film has just premiered in Hong Kong that is sure to take the picture houses by storm. Texas Hold’em Poker already seems to be seeing a worldwide increase in competitors and is bound to increase its popularity through the movie release.

The story is set in Asia and is the tale of two poker playing rivals that are competing in the same competition for the crown.

The movie was filmed in the world famous Asian casino capital of Macau and has already caused a stir when hundreds of players arrived at the city during the APT Macau Festival last August while the film was being shot. The film was not short of willing extras as it would appear that poker players arrived just to see if they could get a place on set to star in the movie.
Texas Hold‘em has already seen an increase in popularity thanks to the world of online gaming where players can compete from all over the globe. Now it looks like it is about to have a huge impact on the poker scene in Hong Kong and other Asian cities.

The Film premiered with a star studded audience and the stars Louis Koo and Lau Ching-Wan also attended. Actor Louis Koo said, “This game is very popular in the West. Perhaps it has just started to develop in Asia. I had to learn mannerisms and skills from players outside Hong Kong.”

We can’t wait to see this movie and hope that it will soon be on release in the West. It will be curious to see how the game is received by the Eastern players as it is such a relatively new game to them!

I wonder how long it will be before the Eastern players catch up with us Westerners with playing online Party Poker Rakeback and PKR Poker Rakeback?. I bet they can’t wait to get their hands on some brilliant Rakeback Deals
