Black Jack Basic Strategy

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Black jack basic strategy is the best way to play a black jack hand on the first round after a shuffle, assuming you see no cards other than your own and the dealer’s upcard. Black jack is not pure gambling game and it doesn’t matter if play gambling online or live. Black jack is a skill game and more skill you posses less the house edge is. For a person who does not count cards, black jack basic strategy is the best way to play every hand.

Calculating Basic Black Jack Strategy
Basic black jack strategy can be either total-dependent or composition-dependent black jack strategy.
• Total-dependent black jack strategy means the strategy numbers require only the dealer’s card and the total points in your hand.
• Composition-dependent black jack strategy means the strategy numbers require knowledge of the dealer’s card and the precise cards that make up your hand.

For example:
Total-dependent black jack strategy says stand on twelve against 4.
Composition-dependent black jack strategy for twelve against 4 requires you to specify how you get to twelve: Do you have 7-5, 8-4, 3-2-2-5, or what? If you get to twelve by 10-2 or 2-10 (where 10 means any 10-count card), and two or fewer decks are being used (or seven or fewer if the dealer stands on soft seventeen), you should hit. If you get to twelve by any other route, or enough decks are being used, you should stand.

There are few differences between composition-dependent and total-dependent black jack strategies for single deck, and none that are important for multiple decks.
Pairs
If you split a pair and catch another card of the same value, resplit if you can. If it is correct to split a pair, it is correct to resplit.
You may or may not be allowed to double down after splitting a pair. For example, if you split 8-8 and catch a 3 for eleven, you may or may not be allowed to double down on that eleven. If doubling down after splitting is allowed, then splitting is more attractive and you should split more often and use you bonus chance.

Surrender
Surrender means losing half a bet for the privilege of not playing out the hand. Late surrender means you cannot surrender if the dealer has a natural. The table of generic basic strategy includes strategy for late surrender. Most of the value of late surrender comes from surrendering sixteen against 10. Late surrender is worth 0.1% to a basic-strategy player.
If you are playing blackjack at a casino that does not offer surrender, or if you are not allowed to surrender due to having more than two cards, then hit those hands for which surrender is advisable.

Insurance
Basic strategy says never take insurance. Even if you have a natural, you are better off not insuring it. You are better off winning 3:2 most of the time than winning even money for sure.

Card Counting In Blackjack!

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Where in other casino games such as roulette, craps there is no absolute effect of result of one play on any future deal, the blackjack always remain some risks regarding that. That means in blackjack it is possible that some events of any future play can be affected by its previous performance. Whenever if it is found that the remaining cards of the player have a high proportion than normal, in that case it is quite obvious that it goes to player’s benefits but in adverse the player will dealt a bad hand of cards. But in many cases it has been found that it is very tough for the player to remember exactly which cards have already been dealt in the previous play. Especially it becomes difficult when it comes from a multiple deck shoe. For that reason card counting always denotes some positive, negative or zero point value to the each and every remaining card in the deck.

Generally it is seen that the cards carrying low value such as 2, 3 are of positive value and the cards carrying higher value are at the negative value. But the different card counting method assigns different value of each card to be dealt. The card counter can make a tally of the point values in his mind although it is better to make a count on counter’s own estimation regarding dealt cards and undealt cards as well. That will definitely present an accurate value or proportion or percentage of the cards which have been left in the deck shoe. Keep in mind that a larger range of point values always make the counting process complicated. Counting process of the card valued the smaller value such as 1, -1, 0 is level one count that denote the most easiest task of performance while multilevel count is what assign the higher point values, increase much difficulty.

In the process of card counting in blackjack the main complication remain in the treatment of aces which is much valuable when it comes for having a blackjack. Generally aces are not advantageous for the card players but it is beneficial when it is in the field of blackjack and remains in the deck. It should have a positive count.

The main advantage that a player can get through this card counting formality is that the player can make more betting of larger portion when his deck of card allows him and in adverse the deck itself give signal to make smaller amount in betting and accordingly can modify its situation by taking other various strategies. The player can also get information relating to value of each and every card to be dealt in or any type of composition that will help to make a better result.

The very main thing about this card counting is that the method of card counting will be performed very genuinely and accurately so that it cannot make any negative effect and with this the counting process must be taken to avoid the casino countermeasures. Otherwise many can make errors in this process and lose huge amount of money as well.

Blackjack : Quickstart Guide

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

Having been a blackjack dealer and gambling instructor, I have taught countless people how to playing the game of Blackjack. The game of Blackjack is a very simple one to learn and you can be on the table playing in just minutes from now. On my main website (WiseBettor.com), I go more in detail about gambling, but this quick start guide will give you everything you need to play a game of Blackjack. For the purpose of this article, we will focus on playing Blackjack online.

Before you can play a hand of Blackjack, you must place a bet on the table. The minimum bet amount required to play depends on the table you are at. All winning bets at the Blackjack table are paid even money, with the exception of a dealt Blackjack, which is paid three to two. If, for example, you have a $5 bet on the table and receive a Blackjack, you would be paid $7.50.

The game starts with you receiving two cards and the dealer receiving two cards. One card of the dealer is placed face up for you to see. This card is called the “up card” and gives you a little help in guessing what the dealer holds. Each card has a count that’s equivalent to it’s number. So, for example, a two is worth two. The Jack, Queen and King cards are worth ten. The Ace is worth one or eleven—you decide. At the conclusion of each hand the player closest to twenty-one wins. However, the object is not really to get as close to twenty-one as possible, rather to beat the dealer.

As the player, you go first. You can hit, stand, split, double down or surrender. Here’s a description of each action.

Stand: You stay with what you have and end your turn.

Hit: You take another card. You can continue to do this until you are satisfied or bust (go over 21).

Split: If you have two cards of the same type (example: two tens), you can split them up and make two separate hands. You can only split your first two cards.

Double Down: When you double down, you double up your bet and take one final card—and end your turn. You can’t double down after you have more than two cards.

Surrender: You kill the hand by taking back half of your money and giving up. Most casinos offer this now. You can only surrender when you have your first two cards.

Once your turn ends, the dealer completes the hand by drawing if needed. Most casinos are setup so that the dealer must hit until the dealer holds a 17. If the casino hits on soft 17, that means any 17 made with an ace (example: ace and a six) is hit. A hard 17 would be something like a ten and a seven.

You are now ready to hit the Blackjack table and have some fun. It would be good to read up on some blackjack strategy before playing—to maximize your potential. You will find out some key times to not hit no matter what you have and times to double down. Blackjack is a fun game and the house has a low advantage over you—if you know how to play right.

Black Jack Strategy Revealed

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Black Jack Strategy explained in this article is just a piece of a detailed black jack strategy that anyone playing black jack, can find on my black jack strategy blog, the url below. Blackjack, unlike other games, has an element of player choice, where players can actually reduce the casino advantage to a small percentage by playing what is known as basic black jack strategy. This black jack strategy determines when to hit and when to stand, and also determines when doubling down or splitting is the correct action. Basic strategy is based on the player’s point total and the dealer’s visible card.

There are slight variations in basic black jack strategy depending on the exact house rules and the number of decks used. Under the most favorable conditions (single deck, downtown Las Vegas rules), the house advantage over a basic strategy player can be as low as 0.16%. Indeed, casinos offering special rules like surrender and double-after-split may actually be offering a positive expectation to basic strategy players; they are counting on players making mistakes to make money.

The following rules are beneficial to the player:

1. Doubles are permitted on any two-card hand except a blackjack.
2. Doubles are permitted after splitting.
3. Early surrender; the ability to forfeit half your wager against a face or ace before the dealer checks for blackjack.
4. Normal (aka “late”) surrender.
5. Resplitting Aces.
6. Drawing more than one card against a split Ace.
7. Five or more cards with the total still no more than 21 as an automatic win (a “Charlie”)

The following rules are detrimental to the player:

1. Less than 3:2 payout on blackjacks (as is the case with Las Vegas Strip single-deck blackjack, paying out 6:5)
2. Dealer hits on soft seventeen (ace, six)
3. Splitting a maximum of once (to two hands)
4. Double down restricted to certain totals, such as 9-11 or 10,11
5. Aces may not be resplit
6. No-Peek (European) blackjack—player loses splits and doubles to a dealer blackjack
7. Player losing ties

There is one thing hapenning in black jack game when a someone can win in blackjack by looking for warps. In the casino industry, is is called a “dealer tell,” meaning, a dealer who gives away information that the casino believes players shouldn’t possess. When a dealer checks the hole card under tens or aces, some inexperienced dealers will unknowingly bend those cards upwards and this will cause the tens and aces to have a different shape than the rest of the cards in the deck. With this information, the sharp-eyed player believes he knows the dealer’s hole card by its disfigured state-which is known as “playing the warps.”

The worst move a player can make with a hand while playing blackjack, it’s actions like doubling down on a natural blackjack. Actually for the average player in the casino, it’s standing on a pair of eights versus a dealer upcard of 7 instead of splitting them. A player making this basic strategy error will lose 70% of the time.

BJ Strategies. Guaranteed Winning At Single Deck Blackjack.

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

No system will allow you to win every hand. The true method of beating the casino at Blackjack is to bet more on your winning hands then you do on your loosing hands. Controlling your bets is the key to walk away from the table with more money then you started with.
The chart above shows you exactly which plays to make. Once this is done all you have left is to choose a betting strategy so you can
come out a winner.

Simple Betting Method To Beat The Casino
When playing internet blackjack or blackjack at a casino begin betting with one chip and continue to bet using only chips of the same value throughout the game. In other words, if you choose to use $10 chips, use only $10 chips for the entire game as you apply this information.

On every loss, increase your bet by one chip. Every time you win a hand, decrease your bet by one chip. When you win 2 hands in a row, start over from the beginning by betting 1 chip. If you get to an 8 chip level without winning then start over again with 1 chip. If you win a
6 or 7 chip bet, then start over again with 1 chip.

Remember, the key to beating the http://www.popularcasinosonline.com casino is not to win more hands, but to put yourself in a situation where your higher bets are the ones
that win.

Good Luck………

Simple Betting Method To Beat The Casino

In Blackjack, the objective is to try to beat the dealer by getting closer to 21. If the total value of your hand is closer to 21 then the dealer’s hand, you win an equal amount to what you have bet. If you have a http://www.popularcasinosonline.com blackjack which is a 21, you win 3:2 times your bet. E.g. – a $10 bet will give you $15 as long as the dealer doesn’t also have a blackjack. Aces have a face value of either 1 or 11. Face cards have a face value of 10 and the rest of the numbers are valued as their face numbers. If you receive an ace, you can either play it as 11 or 1 and that is why they are called a soft hand.

If the total of your hand is over 21, you bust and you loose your bet. If you have the same card value as the dealer from 17 and up then it’s called a “push” and you receive your original bet back. The dealer must draw cards until he has reached 17 or higher.

Blackjack Lingo

HIT – If you are not happy with the two cards you are dealt, you can “hit” to draw additional cards until you “stand” or bust.

STAND – If you are happy with the cards that you have received, then you can “stand”.

DOUBLE DOWN – When you “double down” that means that you have to double your bet and you will receive only one card and your
hand “stands”.

SPLIT – If the two cards you are dealt are of the same value, you can split them into two different hands by placing a second bet of
equal value. At most on-line casinos if you split two aces, you will only receive one card on each ace and you will have to “stand”.
If you split aces and you receive a blackjack it is only considered a 21 and not a blackjack. Check out our Basic Strategy Card For Single Deck Blackjack

And here’s a hot tip, go check out www.galaxiworld.com they have a HOT single deck blackjack game that pays ridiculous amounts. it is paying single deck blackjack according to multideck standards. So they pay 2 to 1 on a blackjack instead of 6 to 5. They pay out percentage is actually over 100% and I am not clear whether that game is there by accident or whether it is meant to drive more traffic to other games. But if you’re reading this article, i strongly suggest a visit. It is worth a shot.
