It is without a doubt that Texas Holdem is one of the most popular variants of poker in the world. And of all the variants of this kind of poker, No Limit Texas Holdem has reputation for having high stakes and more challenging game play. In fact, most beginners find it difficult to catch up with the fast paced action in this type of Texas Holdem poker.

Click Here to Play Billings Poker

One of the biggest things that make No Limit Texas Holdem pretty different from other forms of this card game is that it involves a lot of psychology. Many players refer to this type of Texas Holdem poker as a psychological battle. While the best hand often wins in Texas Holdem with Limits, in a no limit game, the player with the best psychological skills wins.

This type of Texas holdem also requires a lot of skill when played. In this type of poker, a skilled player has more room to use his or her tools against his or her opponents. Some of the tools that seasoned players use include bluffing, using deception in betting, and leading opponents to a trap that they cannot easily escape.

And of course, one of the largest factors for winning in this type of Texas Holdem poker is the size of your chip stack. The more chips you have in front of you on the table, the more chances you have of taking the advantage. So it is important that you keep an eye on your bankroll.

Always keep in mind that the odds favor the strong in No Limit Texas Holdem. So always keep an eye on where the odds are pointing. If you let your opponents know that you are weak, do not expect to stay long in the game – strong players can easily take you out early in the game.

Poker is the name given to a number of card games where players wager on the strength of the cards they hold. Poker is a game that involves a communal pot that consists of the players’ wagers which is awarded to the poker player who either holds the highest ranking hand or makes a wager which goes unmatched by his or her opponents. But what is the Texas Holdem definition?

Click Here To Join Great Falls Poker Tournaments!

Texas Holdem is a variation of poker where players combine any of the five community cards with a couple of hole cards. It is usually played with nine or ten players at a full table with a rotating blind system. A blind system is designed to generate money to put into the pot. In any basic poker game, players strategically wager using five actions that are available to them – check, bet, fold, call, and raise. The objective of any poker player is having the best five-card hand at the end of the game and consequently hitting the pot.

Although there is no exact information on where Texas holdem originated, it goes without saying that the game more than likely originated in Texas. The legend says that the earliest version of the game was played in Robstown, Texas in the early 1900s.

There are several variations of Texas holdem poker, including limit, no limit, and pot limit Texas holdem poker. Limit poker is also known as fixed limit because the betting limits are fixed. At any given time, you can only bet in the single governing limit set for that street. In no limit holdem, there is no maximum bet, while in a pot-limit game, no player can raise more than the size of the total pot.

A lot of different rules may be implemented in the game, but then again, it generally follows the same pattern of play.

If you are at all serious about playing poker, or if you’re a Texas Holdem junkie like me, then you will need lots of poker chips. I call them my Texas Holdem Chips.

Texas Holdem Chips – Shapes and Sizes

There is a wide variety of poker chips to choose from. They come in many different shapes and sizes. The weights of the chips have been standardized. There are two basic chips that I use while playing Holdem – the 11.5 gram chip and the 13 gram chip. There are other weights. These just tend to be the most popular. For example, there are also 10 gram chips.

The most popular type of poker chips are constructed of clay and plastic. There are other chips that are made of oak and mahogany, which are really nice. There are even graphite chips available, but are still pretty rare.

Buying Your Texas Holdem Chips

When you buy poker chips, you typically buy them in sets that range from 200 to 600 pieces. Typically, every player at a table will need about 100 pieces. Therefore, a 2 player game will require approximately 200 to 300 pieces. A 5 player game will require around 500 to 600 pieces for Texas Holdem. You get the idea…

There are tons of companies that manufacture poker chips and chip sets. Some of those companies even offer customized prints at a premium cost. That means that you can put your own personal logo or image on the chip. Customized prints are great for advertising products, or prizes at events like poker tournaments, golf tournaments and parties.

Poker Chips – A Part of the Game

You can’t play Texas Holdem without your Texas Holdem Chips. It’s just not the same. You need to feel the chips in your hands and hear them rub up against each other while you’re raking in that massive pot.

One thing that you will notice about poker chips is that they sound differently. Everyone has their preference on the type of chips they prefer. I think that the best chips are the ones that have a sharp, crisp sound when they fall. These also happen to be the most common chips, and the ones found in casinos all over the world.

Outside of the game of Texas Holdem, poker chips have become a lucrative business. Some people are even fanatical about them. There are poker pieces that are in fact deemed to be collector’s items.

Your Own Poker Chips For Texas Holdem

Because having your own poker chip set is both for hobby purposes, as well as an addiction for some, there are also some pretty nice chip set cases. Most are made of aluminum, but there are also more expensive ones that are made of graphite, carbon fiber, wood, vinyl, and leather.

What do I use for my home games? I won’t trade my Nevada Jacks 13 gram composite chips for any other. I’ve tried others, but I find these to be the nicest. On my blog, I show you how you can get a 600 piece Nevada Jacks chip set for FREE.

Facebook Texas Holdem is one of the most popular games introduced by Zynga.Inc. It can be played on other social networks such as MySpace, Tagged, Bebo, Hi5, Yahoo and even on iPhone but Facebook is probably the most popular network to play on. All you need to do to get started is have a Facebook account and download the game free from the Zynga website . You may also need to download the Adobe Flash plug-in if it’s not already on your computer. Now your all set to play so the next question is, do you know how to play?

When playing Facebook Texas Holdem you will want to know some basic terminology. This terminology is common to Texas Holdem either online or offline. You can play without knowing these terms but will probably get lost very quickly and lose all your chips. Knowing the basic terminology will help you pick up the game much quicker. Here are what I consider the most important terminology used in Texas Holdem Poker.

Blinds – Blinds are the opening bets made in Texas Holdem. There is a big blind and a small blind. The person to the left of the dealer will post the small blind which is half the minimum bet and the person to the their left will post the big blind which is a full minimum bet.

Flop – The Flop is the first three cards dealt on the community table. There will be two additional cards dealt after betting. You will choose the best three out of five cards to go with the two that are dealt to you to form the best possible hand.

Turn – The Turn is the fourth community card dealt

River – The River card is the fifth and final card dealt to the community.

Raise – To raise is to bet more then the previous player so you are raising the bet.

Call – To call is to bet the same amount as the highest one on the table.

Check – To check is essentially a pass. You are betting zero but still have the option to bet in later rounds.

Fold – To fold is basically quitting. If you have a bad hand and are not ready to throw money away or attempt a bluff you would fold.

Bluff – To bluff is to basically bet big as if you had a great hand to make the other players fold so you can win the pot. A successful bluff is sometimes known as “buying the pot”.

There are many other terms used in Texas Holdem but knowing these will make the game much easier to learn and play.

Game play for Facebook Texas Holdem is pretty simple. First thing you need to do is pick a table and join a game. Grab a seat and let the fun begin. Once you have a seat you need to buy in. The dealer will give you two cards that only you can see. These are called your pocket cards and will gauge how you play your hand. If you have good pocket cards like a pair or two face cards you will want to bet more aggressively. If however, you get say a two and a nine of different suits you may want to fold pretty quickly. So now you will make your first bet. After the first round of betting the dealer will deal the Flop cards, the first three community cards. If something has been dealt that improves your hand then you will bet more aggressively if not you can hold steady or fold and quit. Next the Turn card, the fourth community card, is dealt and another round of betting and then finally the River card and the last round of betting. By now hopefully you have built yourself a winning hand.

The key to winning is to have a strategy and stick with it. Do not let other players bully you in to changing your strategy. If you keep changing and are to inconsistent you will just wind up placing random bets and losing chips fast. One of the best things about Facebook Texas Holdem is that the money isn’t real so even if you lose your shirt one day it will not cost you any money out of pocket. The only thing you may do is bruise your pride but with practice you will find yourself winning more and more.

Texas Holdem is a great game and nothing feels better then winning tons of chips. Weather you want to just beat your friends or join some tournaments you can learn a lot more about texas holdem at http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Win-Texas-Holdem-On-Facebook-and-Myspace You can also get some great tips on how to play as well as winning strategies at http://cheatsandtipsfortexasholdemonfacebook.blogspot.com/ Winning may not be everything but it sure is more fun then losing.
