Arbitrage Spy Review – The First No Loss Betting System!

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Arbitrage Spy is this week’s Dish of the Week, and it’s a little different from usual. Certain the distinctive marketing is there once again, though slightly much less ‘flamboyant’ in terms of product sales web page graphics. The ‘out of work actor’ voice over is there once again – and this one’s awful! – as is the ubiquitous opt in form to ensure that the vending crew can perma-spam you forever after.

In fact, you actually need to enter your e-mail address just to obtain to the sales letter! Getting gone through the hoops so you can see what Arbitrage Spy is all about before giving your details personally, my headline summary is… don’t bother!

A bit like the Grolsch ad where the guys break into the bank that’s still being built, only to be told by the foreman, “Shtop, this bank isn’t ready yet”… so Arbitrage Spy is not yet ready.

Basically, after signing up and purchasing (cost is £47), you’ll be sent through the normal Clickbank process (great because it indicates you are able to claim a refund, which I’ve done in this case)… Oh yes, sorry, I forgot to mention the upsell/downsell pages where they attempt to get more money from you in the product sales process… clicking the bottom website link on each web page enables you to eventually arrive at the download web page.

This is a piece of software for identifying arbitrage* opportunities on UK horse racing. It covers around 25 different bookmakers and the software program goes off and checks the costs on an odds comparison website as well as the current odds on Betfair, and finds arbs depending on your criteria. Sounds reasonable enough, right?

*arbitrage is the act of finding back and lay bets on the exact same horse/team/outcome, which offer the identifier a risk-free wager, irrespective of the outcome.

But… Arbitrage Spy doesn’t have a user manual. There is NO advice on how to get it to work. I’m fairly savvy with software program resources and the like, however it wasn’t clear to me what I was supposed to do (and nevertheless isn’t)… If it is not obvious to me, then most people will struggle horribly with this.

It is an unforgivable oversight to release a piece of software without a lot as an instruction video, and it will lead to the vendor receiving nightmarish admin calls. Not that they will necessarily respond to them (even though I do not know this first hand, so I might be wrong)…

Moreover, when I came to log in this morning, getting bought it yesterday, it hadn’t remembered my login details, and there is no link to effortlessly retrieve this info. In other words, the developer didn’t bother building in a security module and the username and password is hard coded. (Again, this is an educated guess on my part, but I strongly suspect I’m right about that)…

In essence, this really is nothing new, as tools such as Racing Synergy (aka Betting Automation) do the same thing, only better, and with infinitely much more instruction. (Some instruction as opposed to no instruction equals infinitely more instruction!)

My summary is that, as having a thousand betting systems we’ve seen off this – or a similarly anonymous – production line before, Arbitrage Spy is really a half-baked affair that could happen to be a lot better… in fact, it could have been a helpful tool for those who like their bets risk-free with plenty of little gains.

However it is not. The lack of a user manual renders this useless for numerous would be arbers, and that in itself is just plain daft. Beyond that, I wasn’t able to test the software program in the morning (i.e. this morning) because I couldn’t log on. Yes, maybe I should have written down my credentials, but I expected to become in a position to effortlessly retrieve them from my email address if required, like…. nicely like any sensible and completed software program item would enable me to complete.

In case you like hotel rooms exactly where the builders are still drilling outside the window, or chips that taste like hard potatoes, then you might like this. If, like me, you expect your experience to be ready for you before you take the plunge, you should steer really nicely clear of Arbitrage Spy.

2010 NFL Predictions: Da Bears

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Jay Cutler’s first season in Chicago did not go as planned. While he passed for a career-high 27 touchdown strikes, he also led the NFL with 26 interceptions. With Cutler not playing up to his Pro Bowl status, the Bears managed only seven wins.

Following last year, it was clear that the Chicago Bears needed more upgrades. So they brought in defensive end Julius Peppers and RB Chester Taylor. They also added Mike Martz and Mike Tice to the coaching staff.

With these additions, the Bears’ are optimistic that they can contend for an NFC North title. That is, as long as Jay Cutler has a come back back year.

Offense: While Jay Cutler took a ton of heat for Chicago’s offensive problems, he wasn’t solely to blame. His job was not easy playing behind a disappointing offensive line, and he received no help from the running game.

If Tice can get more out of the boys up front, Chicago should be able to do better than the 93.2 yards per game it gained rushing last season, especially now that Taylor has been brought in to aid Matt Forte.

Forte was not able to keep building on the 1,238 yards he gained in his rookie season. Forte most likely won’t run for that many yards this season either, but the Bears’ running game is in better shape after adding another versatile running back.

Cutler did not start to jell with the receivers until late last year. Once he did, Chicago started playing much better football. While Chicago does not have a true No. 1 wideout, Devin Hester, Earl Bennett, Johnny Knox and Devin Aromashodu are all very capable of big games. Martz should also be able to find more ways to get tight end Greg Olsen involved.

If the ground game is better, Jay Cutler will be better. He forced way too many passes last season because the offense was not able to move the football.

Defense: Chicago’s pass rush has been inconsistent the last few seasons, but Peppers should instantly shake things up. We’re speaking about a freakish athlete who has made 10.5 or more sacks in five of the last six years. His presence up front should also revitalize former Pro Bowler Tommy Harris.

Lance Briggs may now be the Bears’ best linebacker, but Brian Urlacher is still the leader of this defense. The Bears missed his leadership and big play ability greatly when he missed almost all of 2009 with a wrist injury. If Pisa Tinoisamoa could avoid the injury bug, the Bears’ have as good a linebacker group as any team in the NFL.

Charles Tillman and Zack Bowman are good cornerbacks, but Chicago needs better play from their safeties. They are hoping that their third round pick Major Wright will be able to improve the safety play from day one.

Prediction: 3rd NFC North – After adding guys like Peppers and Taylor, the Bears will be a better football team then they were last year. The question now is if they can put it all together. Jay Cutler didn’t seem to settle in up until late last season, and Chicago can’t afford their new guys to take that long. Chicago should be better in 2010, but it may be asking to much for it to overtake the Viking and Green Bay. NFL odds makers currently have listed the Bears’ at +350 to win the NFC North.

Free NFL Sports Gambling Picks & NFL Sports Betting Hot Tips 2 Of 2

Sports Betting Tips Page 2

SPORTS BETTING TIP #6

Avoid blind betting

Sports betting can be very profitable if played correctly, having patience and knowing when to bet is key to success. Don’t just bet because you can, or just because the game is there to bet on it. Pick your bets wisely. Study the facts, do your homework, compare picks to handicappers at TMB, and bet the sports you have success with. If you don’t like UFC and don’t follow UFC, then avoid making bets on the UFC. Initial gut feelings of a possible loss to due not knowing the facts of a wagered game are often right. For example, if NFL Football betting is your strong point, stick to betting the NFL only.

SPORTS BETTING TIP #7

Avoid eating too much chalk

A common disbelief in sports betting is that playing extremely heavy favourites will always win. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Heavy favourites in any sport don’t always win, otherwise we wouldn’t have professional line makers or Las Vegas for that matter. Our advice is to limit your sports betting to bets paying -200 (1.500) and higher. If you play low paying outcomes consistently, betting 2 and 3 game parlays are a great way to help build your bankroll at a lowered risk compared to taking higher paying but lower probable outcomes.

SPORTS BETTING TIP #8

Avoid chasing your losses

Knowing when to quit for the day in sports betting is another key ingredient to success. We all have bad nights from time to time. Avoid hast decisions to chase your losses with an additional bet. After a bad night or a big loss, take a break, get your mind off sports betting and clear your head. A new day means a new opportunity to have a profitable sports betting day. As stated in Sports Betting Tip #2, limiting your bankroll/ and avoiding chase bets will undoubtedly help your sports handicapping ability in the long run.

SPORTS BETTING TIP #9

Knowing when to bet

Making the play at the right time is crucial to building your bankroll. When playing online try to place bets as close to game time as possible. This way, in the event of pre-game scratches or late injury updates, you will have all the facts to make a wise sports betting decision. Watching live line movements throughout the day can often times indicate where the professional players are betting their money. The more a game line drops in price closer to game time, the more likely hood the pros have wagered large amounts of money on that given sports event. Professional players usually watch the public place bets on a particular team all day before betting the opposite team at a much higher price closer to game time. This ensures the pros getting the best high price on the event.

SPORTS BETTING TIP #10

Bet 2 option plays as much as possible

In sports betting, some sports such as betting on soccer presents 3 general options for bettors, win, draw, and lose. Due to the added third option, your bet has now more ways to lose because of the tie/draw factor. Limit your bets to 2 option bets such as NFL Football Money Lines, NHL Hockey Over/Under bets, MLB Baseballl Run Line bets, etc. With only 2 options to bet on, the player has better probabilities of winning the wager. Avoid playing additional or special wagers such as “predicting overtime/predicting extra time” bets as those types of wagers have a low probability (under 10%) and will lower your bankroll throughout time.
